This is an exciting time for Barking and Dagenham Homes Ltd as we go through the process of being registered with the Regulator of Social Housing. BDHL is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham, sitting alongside a number of other vehicles known as Reside.

BDHL currently manages 41 homes, at London Affordable Rents. It is expected to take a number of new homes under management this financial year, which may include homes for Shared Ownership.

The wider set of Reside companies currently have over 800 homes, all let below market rents. With ambitious plans for future growth, we are working with the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham and our sister company, Be First, to increase the Reside and BDHL portfolio to 3,000 homes.

We are looking to build a new, independent board of Non-Executive Directors. We are currently looking to appoint a Chair of the Board, and two further Board Members to support them. There are two Board Members already in position; the interim Managing Director and a Board Member from the existing Reside Board structure.

We will look to the Board to help us achieve Registered Provider status, and then instruct our next phase of growth. To really succeed in this role, you will be a natural leader and excellent communicator.

You will be comfortable within our community, and actively seek out ways to ensure that the work that we do best meets the needs of those that live in our borough.
